Fun with English part 3

Another interesting one from Quora.com

Putting two words together to make a new word is a portmanteau. For example, "Internet" is a portmanteau of "interconnected" and "networks". Lewis Carroll coined the term in Through the Looking Glass. The poem Jabberwocky contains a number of portmanteaus, such as "slithy", meaning "lithe and slimy". "Portmanteau" is a kind of suitcase, and the book describes a portmanteau word as "two meanings packed in one word".
