It's called raspberry pi. We seen previous versions of one board microcomputers, the most popular of which is the arduino, but this is different. As limited as arduino is, fans of instructables can point to thousands of things made better when hacked to include the arduino brain from closet doors that open and close themselves to do-it-yourself CNC machines. But that's stone age compared to Raspberry Pi, which comes with linux and uses sd for memory.
With the footprint of a credit card this still isn't even as powerful as a laptop, but hey it retails for $35 so I bet people people will find uses for it.
